Between our team of builders, subcontracted drainage experts and horticulturalists, we have a good base of experience with patios and decks, pathways and drives, integrated into existing with minimum disruption.
We have worked on many of Historic Scotland’s finest Properties in Edinburgh and the Lothian’s, including but not limited to: Edinburgh Castle, Parliament Buildings (old Parliament), Gladstone’s Land, Newhailes House, Dunbar Townhouse, Roal College of Physicians, and many of Edinburgh Universities buildings. We also have a wealth of experience in the medical sector, most recently in upgrading / renewing dental practices throughout the Edinburgh area. We have also undertaken a few specialist domestic alterations and additions - sub basements, swimming pools, lap pools, lift shafts and dumb waiters to name but a few examples.
Whether you are adding a garage, converting an existing to additional living space, putting a games room in the loft of a garage, or making a home for your classic cars, we have probably done something very similar and can advise and guide you through the whole process, from design to completion.
Over the years we have carried out many extensions – everything from period stone and slate, to aluminium frame and grass roofs. In many instances, we have been able to carry out the majority of the works before “breaking through” to the existing structure, thus minimising disruption to the householders while the bulk of the work is done, and elements and dust kept to the outside.
With a large trading history with many of the major suppliers, we can offer good discounts on supply and fit of many standard range kitchens. We can also manufacture bespoke kitchens in our in-house traditional workshop, or even do a mix and match combination – buy your units off the shelf, and we’ll match with a bespoke centre island – your imagination is the limitation.
Whether you have a plot of land, a “tear down site” or full planning consent, we can help you make your dream become a reality – we have a selection of preferred architects we work with to put your ideas on paper, get them through planning and building control, and then take the project from “spade in ground” to handing you the keys at the end of the build. We will keep you abreast of the progress and make you an integral part of the team, or, if you prefer, we will let you know when we’re finished!!
At our in house traditional workshop, we can manufacture pretty much anything you can dream of – from a simple garden gate to corner cabinets, orfrom a wooden car (yes really!), to bespoke combination staircase/bookshelves, there is not much we have not yet been able to manufacture.
Our in-house trades team and tiling divisions coupled with our long standing relationship with reputable plumbing and electrical sub-contractors, allows us to transform your existing, or create you a new bathroom /wet room or en-suite to be proud of.
In addition to our ability and accreditation to supply and fit most named manufacturers products, we also provide a bespoke joinery service where we will manufacture, match or design and build doors, windows, stairs and even conservatories to your specification.
Potentially one of the most cost effective ways to extend your home – if you don’t have designs already, we can certainly point you in the right direction and can give you advice as to how to maximise space and minimise costs.
We have a wealth of tradesmen adept and proficient at “installing” daylight in your roof space – anything from an oval period cupola to a glazed electric sliding escape roof hatch; traditional dormers to alu-clad triple glazed rooflights; conservation lights to sun-tubes, all of the above have been made or undertaken by HMR.
